My name is Bhavana (prounced Bhaav-na , audio). I am a User Experience and Service Designer.
I have over 8 years of experience in delivering measurable business results with user advocacy, systems thinking and my love for problem solving.
Currently
I am working as UX Manager (individual contributor) at Quotient Technology, Consumer Products. I own the design process from concept to market and I work closely with Product Managers on roadmap & requirements.
I love being a designer
because it lets me create things that are intangible, yet experiential and constantly changing. I get to meet strangers and understand them so deeply that my team and I can solve problems for them and create moments of delight in their lives. It gives my work an opportunity to touch millions of people. I also love the energy of collaboration and improvisation in this work. There are days when this work is frustrating & challenging but I wouldn't trade it for anything else.
T shaped designer
My work is a hybrid of research, user centered analysis and interaction design. I believe a UX designer's impact is so much more than making wireframes. The process of designing and communicating it are just as important. I love the work of defining the problem and facilitating the decision making conversations. But I know I have scope for growth. See my T Shaped skills here.

Design is not just work,
it is a way of life for me. It is after all, about solving problems :) It makes a better person - more humble, better listener, open to learning, still playful & goofy. It is also one of the ways I can give back to the world. My personal design mission is to humanize technology. Every problem I solve, every interaction I design, is a teeny tiny attempt to fulfill this mission everyday.
When I am not at work ...
you'll find me reading, watching movies or trying out new restaurants. I love traveling and I am very interested in personal growth & holistic energy healing practices. I am a regular volunteer at Women in Tech and a free holistic energy healing clinic. These days, I am pursuing the art of a perfect daal (Indian lentil soup) and failing elegantly at vegan-ism (because yogurt!).
